I have lots more if anyone is interested :D:D
They're really nice, but I can't ID any of them sorry! #6 has a great quality about it - I think it's the OOF grass in front of the green stuff. Superb!
Hi,
Think that No. 3 might be a Blue Morpho
Thanks, but I am not sure about the Blue Morpho - they don't seem to have the white and red patterning around the edges of the wings?
Does anyone know what the pink shrub is in No. 7 ? I have been trying various plant finders (as well as butterfly searches) but cannot find it so far

blimmin heck I know the name of the last one! I have a photo of it saved and tagged here somewhere. When I remember will get back to you. I'm going to a butterfly park tomo :D
Here is another one I have not found yet. Not quite in focus but would not stay still for me
No. 9 ??

The closest I can find to No. 8 is an Eyed Brown Satyrodes eurydice but they do not look quite the same
Hope you enjoy your visit to the centre - and don't cook in there !

I'm not sure about the Blue Morpho either. I've been browsing dozens of butterfly sites (some of these could be moths - I was with Christine on this jaunt) and it seems the same butterfly can look very different on different websites -
I hoped we'd get some help from the leaflet but although there are photos on it, none are identified. Possibly that is because these beauties are apparently very short lived, and the centre may never know what they are going to be able to hatch out next.
It didn't occur to us (me at least) to ask the very helpful lady
:bonk:

No 3 is an owl butterfly, thats what the top of their wings look like, they very rarely rest like that, you usually just see their owl eye spotted under at rest.

I'm pretty sure Christine's number 3 is Papilio polytes - Common Mormon
Googling butterflies is a very relaxing way to spend a wet Sunday afternoon.

5 & 6 are common mormon not 3
I think No. 2 might be a common mormon - adult form Cyrus Wikipedia - Papilio_polytes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papilio_polytes) - and possibly No. 9 as well
I cant ID them either but they are all really fantastic shots.... very well done.

Sorry, I meant 2 !
But now, I'm more anxious to find out the pink flowers upon which the Paper Kites (Idea leuconoe) are feasting.
