I came across this grave in November last year and have photographed it a few times. I find it intriguing.

This was a bigger shot, which has been cropped and I have used photoshop to brush up a few parts.

What do you think?

Thats an amazing Grave stone, and an sad event that someone died so young.

The photo. I am not sure about it,

The good points
Black and white conversion works well
Good angle

Good exposure (although sky is blown) and detail in the stone

Impovements that could be made.

The top is missing off.

Too much space on the left hand side, it unbalances the composition
Grave stone is at an angle

Hope That Helps

Which direction are you facing when you take that shot? If west then I could see a great sky if you can get there on one of those sunsets with broken clouds.

To me it would be better if the tree and gravestone were level. And the only other thing is the sky, it's not very exciting and would benefit from a more moody cloudscape behind. Otherwise it's a nice shot, and one you can keep improving on by re-visiting by the sound of it :)

I think it looks incredibly creepy, and the head of the statuette seems to be a part of the grave behind it rather than a separate entity.

Personally I'm getting bored of seeing gravestones in black and white. It's almost too obvious.

I don't think the OP would be too popular if they took a can of dayglow green paint with them next time

I like the subject but would rather find it myself, have it draw me to it rather than 'here I am' if that makes sense. Great project though.
