Just can't believe what good value this little lens is, though I have to admit, it's a bloody pain to use! I see special rails and awesome lighting in my future (and probably more macro lenses!!!).

Anyway, I had a 30-minute play with it tonight and cn't get over how HUGE it magnifies everything.

First, whacked it on my standard 18-55mm kit lens that never gets any use - results....

1. A 100 pesos coin from Columbia.

2. My little finger
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3194/2437408718_fb7c28088f_o.jpg

3. My eye! (believe me when I say I took this shot without looking in the viewfinder and hand-held! Hence, not too sharp...)
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2352/2436589145_f6ebe89eb8_o.jpg

Then I put the Raynox onto my Sigma 70-300mm and...

4. A US quarter - talk about focusing issues - crazy sensitive!

5. My fingerprint...

The Raynox on the kit lens was a lot more manageable, but over 55mm and the focusing becomes an issue. I would love to learn to control this on the Sigma....

Anyway - I know these shots are not up to scratch, but gives you a rough idea of what this £50 macro lens is capable of (4x magnification).

Glad you are enjoying it Mike, what one did you get? £50 me thinks it must have been the MSN202 as the DCR 250 is half that price. Good start and now you will discover a whole new world ;)

A couple of a little spider I found in a corner of my flat... excuse the nasty built in flash - I'm sure this must have scared the crap out of the little chap!

it pairs up with a tamron 90mm macro lens really well btw - those are excellent shots, especially considering that you are using a 70-300 apo and kit lens! nice one :)

Thanks. The ones of the spider are with the Raynox MSN202 and Canon 18-55mm kit lens

The pen shot is very good.

I've ordered the MSN202 today and looking forward to having a go with it. My first shot will be taking, macro needed here, a shot of my annual bonus :(

Ive had my 250 & 150 a couple of years now. A good trick is to get the subject on the same plane as the camera as there is such a small depth of field and this gives you a fighting chance! Also I notice your aperture is at F5 on some shots............... use smallest aperture you can and a tripod.

have fun......your photos are good already may i say!

OK you've really got me interested...

I have never heard of the beast you speak of - any info would be great.

Will it work on a 50mm f1.8 lens or which lenses does it fir ?.

Cheers

Rob

has a squeeze push end so it fits lots... certainly the lovely 50mm lens.

Ordered mine through digitaltoyshop, arrived in 4 days, (UPS, cash on delivery).

Tried Amazon but they did not have all that I wanted, (also ordered a Tele lens and adapter).

Would this be a better option than a set of tubes.

I am considering buying some tubes, but like what I see on this.

I would be using it with the standard kit lens, although I am thinking about upgrading to the 18-55mm IS version.
