spotted this housefinch perched on a blackberry vine at the park near my home, and grabbed a couple of shots before he flew away... at the time, my lens was backfocusing just a bit, but i liked the colors of this shot so much i kept it anyway... Canon 40D, 100-400L, 400mm, 1/400 @ f/7.1...

What a lovely little bird, and indeed very colourful. *

Tis a shame about the focus, but it doesn't distract that much !!

thanks! i'd just bought the lens when this was taken, and discovered to my chagrin that it wasn't quite spot on. i've had the focusing issue fixed, the lens is razor sharp now... ;) pity it wasn't 100% up to snuff when this was taken... :(
