Hi there folks new here. About to finish my course at uni studying Computing for Graphics and Animation and have recently gotten into photography. Bought myself a Fuji S9600 a few months back and still trying to find time to have a good play around with it. Was out with my girlfriend on Monday and took some pics of flowers when we were at the park. Let me know what you think and be as honest as you like - want to learn and I can take it :D:

Thats a mixed bunch of flower shots :D

I love the colours but some are let down by the busy background and could do with some though behind the composition.

5, 7 and 11 are the best of the bunch for me cos they are more isolated and the image does the subject justice.

I know there are more qualifed flower togs than me who'd give a bit better and constructive critique though :D

Agree with above, always pay as much attention to the background as the main subject. Theres aslso a lot of wasted space, crop them tighter. Have you sharpened the images in processing? It can help a lot. Keep posting,

^^^ Ditto. I like #3,5 and 8 out of this collection. ;)

Cheers for the comments guys.

Yea i haven't done any editing to them - just been taken in RAW format and then converted to jpeg (still keep RAW formats for future use). I still need to learn up on good editing techniques etc. I'm into my photoshopping of cars and stuff so just need to look at some tutorials and things to get new skills.

Hopefully my camera work will get better as I practice :D

Agree the backgrounds are far too busy, no3 & 5 are the best of them imho, but a crop on No1 would improve it greatly.
