My 12 year old daughter will be there (mood permitting!) and she can produce a fine piccy if she puts her mind to it. I'm not sure if you have a spare camera for him but I have spare (telephoto) lenses if you would like to borrow any.

I must admit I am not too bothered if the weather is a bit "Bankholidayish" as it will mean fewer people in our way while we are taking pictures! Plus I only have a few miles to travel....

LOL yeah ill have about a 280 mile round trip so driving all that way to get soaked and then have to drive home wet doesnt exactly make me glow inside lol ;)

Last time I went near there it took me about 2 hrs in "midday" mid week traffic god knows what the A14 will be like B/H week-end though :(

Hi everyone, weather is looking good for the trip to Banham Zoo today. Official forecast says that it should be sunny and up to about 17C with light south-easterly winds.
Looking out of my kitchen window the sun has come up over the trees and has burnt off what little mist was about. There are a few bits of cloud floating about (Don't know what types :shrug: ), but it is definately looking good :thumbs: :thumbs: :thumbs:

It really depends on your budget
The 400D is a good one to start with but so is the 40D
( but a few hundred more obviously)
I was more than happy with my 400D but really needed the extra frames per sec of the 40D for my "normal stuff" ( show jumping) and the sensor of the 40D I think is much better for colour reproduction. It has a few more gissmo's as well but you may not need them.
Some say the 400D is a bit small in the hand, but that was never an issue, and you can always add a battery grip shoul dit become so.
See if you can get a couple of different ones to play with. Have a read around the forums there are a few 400D v (upgrade) 40D threads and CTs one is an excellent guide to the 40D
