My 14year old daughter Kerry attended her first British Eventing competition today with Mum & Dad in support. She entered in the "intro" class and as she went clear is now eligible for "pre-novice" which was the goal for the day.

Dressage first. I was so nervous for her here that I never concentrated on getting into a decent position to take photos hence bad compositions - Hacker would never have done that :>

Whilst waiting for Kerry at the Showjumping there was some good entertainment..........

#4 "That's it! I stop here!"

#5 "No! Come back and do it again!"

#6 "No fear! I'm off!"

#7 "There, wasn't so bad, was it?"

Then we had a 4 legged visitor of another form. There were two but I missed the first as it went behind me.

When Kerry came through, she did well and went clear.

On to Cross-Country. It is always bad when someone falls but when they fall in front of you, the ambulance is called (she was treated but walked away) and it is the rider before your daughter, well I guess you know how nervous you get.

A good day, but I think I am still made for bikes rather than horses. :D

Good set that tells a story Gary, that is one nice looking horse you've got there particularly in shot #2.

Well done to Kerry as well, a future star in the making?

Very nice set! Good captures that tell a story.
Really like all the pics, but my favourite is that rabbit in #9 LOL. Great shot!

Loving the smile on her face in the second to last shot Gary! Sounds like you both had a good day - she's got a proper eventers style over the show-jumps too!

Good set, and a nice narrative behind it, the first two are my pick, mainly for the nervy concentration on her face :)

Some lovely shots. Particularly like the dressage bow.

And as for shots 4-7, to be honest I'd refuse the jump too if I had to carry a rider of such obvious, er, girth....

:D

Great set Garry
I too like the dressage "salute"
and the pony sequence is so typical of those little buggers :D
