One of my favourite surfing beaches in Cornwall is this, with very powerfull waves when the surf is pumping, but it comes at a cost with some very strong currents.
This happened to be a calm day and so a stroll along the beach and a sunset of my favourite location seemed just as pleasing.
Hope you like
C&C always welcome!

What a gorgeous shot - I like sunset shots, but I never get the sharp / crisp clarity of your shot - I've just bought a ND filter to go with my lens as I was told it would help to get that clarity.........share your secret with us ......please........even though I'm an Evertonian and were gonna whup your claret/blue arses today!!

haha cheers Steve!
I think you will find we will pull a result on you today, will be a tough game but I'm confident 1 goal will win it ;)
With regards to my shot, it was only with a kit lens 18-55mm, circular polariser and cokin grey grad filter...with landscapes you can run the hyperfocal distance technique which gives you sharp detail from the front right to the back of the shot, but this is probably worth trying and getting used to after you get decent sharp images just as standard setup.
I use aperture priority and set between f9-f16, I find this gives me good results. This shot however is only on f8, but running unsharp mask in Photoshop will get you good results too, this is what I did.
Also, I focus about 1/3 into the shot, so watch for where you are focusing too ;)
Hope that helps

How do you mean, as in how did I get it to show on the page in a post?
You need to uplaod your image to a web server of your own or www.flickr.com then copy and paste the code into the post.
If you look at the little yellow landscape box on where you start your thread, click that and it iwll ask for the code that your link is located at

Great composition this. Your decision to include more of the foreground the crucial factor. The colours are well saturated but not OTT. Is there a bit of hdr here? The colours look like they have been through a tone mapping process.Well done mate!

Well thanks for all the replies people, very pleasant reading I must say! :D
HIMUPNORTH: Thansk mate, much appreciate the comments. This hasn't been through HDR no, I had to think when you asked but seeing my exif is still there on my blog I can tell it wasn't hdr, if it was then it would have rid my exif ;)
It was a straight shot with some selective dodging and burning, 2 photo filters from Photoshop a warm and a megenta I think, and just simple unsharp mask and a tweak of contrast and saturation ;)
The sky was rather deep in colour and produced slight noise, Neat Image did an EXCELLENT job at smoothing this out, I was overwhlemed...
The rest is history lol ;)
