View Full Version : Impressive... Not!
Just fought my way through the town centre crowds to my local Jessops to get some film to give the A1 an airing. Total stock of Provia... 2 rolls of out- of-date ISO 400 and one roll of ISO 100 which they had to rummage around for in the stock room. :suspect2:
Falling demand coupled with Jessops ineptitude is a recipe for a bad day out.
Sadly, I remember when it was a great shop. The counter staff's collective wisdom couldn't answer the questions an elderly couple were asking about a particular camera either, and they made a lot up as they went along. :nunu:

I steer clear of one of my local branches, the girl in there scares me :eek2:
Have to say the 'smaller' of the two shops in Doncaster has always served me well, the manager is knowledgeable and hasn't got a problem with spending a little time chatting about any problems.
For major purchases the over the counter contact IMHO is far better than buying from an e-tailer.
Absolute classic line from a J store that shall remain unnamed...
I was browsing and along came the assistant with 'can I help you with anything'?
OK, I was in tracky bottoms and a t-shirt and had the 350d around my neck, but got chatting and asked 'how much is the Canon 1d MKII in the window?'
His reply was...
'More than you can afford'
Never shopped in any Jessops since and never will.
Might pop in and buy a bottle of lens cleaner with the 1d around my neck though if I ever get one.
in your tracksuit bottoms and T shirt I hope :)
i would have whipped out a CC and bought one there and then for that comment!
take it back to the other branch, lol

I should have said 'more than anyone could afford' or could I have a discount for the colour fading as it's been in the window for so long.
