Found this on Jacobs website today hope it helps any of you Nikon users?

Nikon EN-EL3 Voluntary Product Recall
Some rechargeable Li-ion batteries of the type EN-EL3 for Nikon Digital SLR cameras may become defective, resulting in overheating during recharging.

The EN-EL3 is provided as a supplied accessory with the D100, D70 and D50 Digital SLR cameras. It is also sold as a separate accessory for these camera models, and can be used in the Nikon D70s.

For more information and to check whether your battery is part of the recall and procedures to deal with a possible problem. Please see Nikon.co.uk and go to contact us, then technical support.

The ones for the D2x are still brilliant - I just did the whole of my Afghan trip on just the batteries in the camera - without a recharge in the whole three weeks and they're just under half-charged now.
Amazing.
