I'm going to the FA cup final as a spectator and am wondering whether I will be allowed to take in my D40x & 18-200 lens.

The Wembley website says "No professional cameras or recording devices". Now I know a D40 isn't a pro camera, but to an untrained eye it may appear better than your average compact.

Anyone else taken their DSLR with them without issue? Just wondering whether to chance taking it or not...

I wouldn't risk a DSLR...

A lot of gate monkeys will be looking for cameras with removable lenses.

Hi Tommo

I went to the semi's and they (gate monkeys...lol) were spot checking people, it also said no rucksacks but I saw people inside with them, so I reckon its a game of chance, I did wish that I took my 40d but wondered what would happen if they caught me, would you leave it with security or not go in to watch the game????
I did see one ingenious couple in front of me they put a camcorder inside a polystyrene food container then wrapped it in cling film so it looked like their lunch or something.

On several occasions in Wembely I have taken in my D40X with 70-300 Sigma lens. Had camera bag open, and they have been fine with it!
Just don't take any spare lenses and it should be fine!
