How about a jokes section

The best forums keep it simple, too much splitting into specialised sections makes hard work for users and they will drift away.

Yeah I agree, keep it simple. Jokes seem ok in the genral chit chat area. That's what it's for, everything not photography related right?

Don't EVER have an off topic section. I'll tell you why.

Off Topic sections lead to discussions about war, politics and religion.

Discussion of the aforementioned invariably leads to frayed tempers.

Frayed tempers lead to abuse and flame wars, and thats when people turn into cyber warriors and start having to be banned.

I've seen it all before.

How about having a single joke thread (as mentioned before) but make it a "sticky"... keeps it at the top, easy to add to, and to find if your in need of a laugh.

I'm not averse to having a joke thread, I like that idea.
I don't think a sticky is the way forward, we prefer to keep those for forum announcements and topical issues.

Feel free to start a joke thread anyway (or carry on any of my critique threads....lol)
