Anyone been in the fortunate enough position to try both of these lenses? I am swaying towards the Sigma.
I can't say I've tried the Tammy, but the Sigma is FANTASTIC.
Cheers,
James

I have been looking at both these lenses too. I have read very good reviews of both lenses which made the decisions harder.
My trouble is that I cannot find anywhere that the tammy in stock (Pentax fit), I rang Devon Cameras to order today as their site showed it in stock, unfortunately the site was incorrect.
I am now wondering whether to wait or order the Sigma 24-60 which (if my math's is correct with my APS 1.5x sensor) would be equivalent to a 36-90. The only reason I went for the tammy was the extra reach to be honest.
I'll be interested to see which you go for.

I'd be interested to see which you go for to Fuzzy. This has turned in to a western style shoot out, who will buy first!!!!!

Well, wait no longer!!
After waiting over a month for the Tammy I decided to go for the Sigma, especially after recent reviews i read. The nice people at Warehouse Express had 1 left in stock, so i'm glad i did.
Should be here tomorrow!:woot::woot::woot:
Nice! You'll be pleased :) Fantastic lens

Thanks James. :)
I had the Tamron and it was excellent. Pretty sharp wide open too.
Sold to John (Dark Star) when I moved to full frame and I think he was pleased with it too.

From my initial use I am loving this lens, extremly versatile, build quality appears solid i'm very pleased with it so far.
I hope this helps you make your decision.
I can certainly vouch for the Tamron (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=60838) - fabulous lens.
havnt used the tamron, but my sigma is absolutly spot on, my only criticism is the creep when aiming high or low ( i.e. not horizontal ) but you son get used to it and i feel its a small price to pay for the IQ. For a sub £200 lens it beats a hell of a lot more expensive ones in terms of build an IQ
