Over 100,000 Rangers fans took over central Manchester today for the UEFA cup final.
Went in to take some photos, got a few semi-descent ones but overall wasn't too happy with what I came out with.
This one looked sooooo much better on my camera, came out a bit soft :(

Good shots 8utters. Like the one with the fans on the monument/church seems to capture the jubilant feel that must have been in the air. Also like the last of the girl on her dads shoulders :thumbs:
Number 1 makes my eyes go funny so need to get to an optician :lol:

Really annoyed about number 1, would have made an awesome shot, when I looked at it on the LCD I thought it was perfect. Bummer :(

There's still time to get a shot of thousands of fans coming out of the ground but looking at the TV just not sure they'll be very jubilant ;)

It's too dark now, that's why I left, can't get the shutterspeed fast enough to freeze the action.
I'm surpised they haven't rioted already actually. The giant screen in Picadilly Gardens wasn't working, made everyone so angry, loads of people were throwing beer bottles at it. Saw a load of fights too, and tons of fans just started attacking public busses and stuff. Crazy!

It's going to be a mess in the morning. Luckily I don't work in the centre of town. From the descriptions I heard today, the smell in town was like a pub toilet :puke:

I was yea, for a short time around 5pm! Have a 1D MkII and a 70-200 2.8 IS so I was standing out from the crowd!! In a green t-shirt too, which got a few comments! "Wheres your blue?!"

Yeah I got a few comments, loads of people were asking me where I worked for. I wore blue on purpose, wanted to blend into the crowd :D

yea same here lol...I was like "err...uni!" just watching it on the news now, they've been rioting because the TV at Piccadilly broke! The place looks seriously trashed :( Apparently the riots might get worse too lol!

so long as they don't start marching up the East Lancs road I'm happy ;)
hopefully the council will learn this time around that football, big screen TVs, and beer don't mix!! couldn't believe it when they announced they were doing this after the problems with the world cup (was it??) a couple of years ago!
Yeah the council allowed drinks to be sold and consumed outside pubs and bars, bit of a mistake in my opinion but they can't really police it properly so I spose their hands were tied.
I'v got my eye on the news for any rioting lol.

They took over the northwest really, 20,000 in Blackpool or so I hear.
I must nip over to the planes thread, as plane spotters had tried to pre book 600 car parking space at the viewng area Manchester Airport.
