Can I suggest posting suggested departure times [at both ends] if we are to travel together? That way we can all check availabiliy and book etc?

Oooh dear I'm meant to be working that day on the late shift and the night before!!! So I'd have to take two days leave!! I'm afraid I would probably be doubtful.

I'll have a look at train possibilites from down here to up there, and see what is feasible for us. Trouble is I'm already comitted to two trips up to Paris so far this year and another to Geneva (all 3, cat related) So I might not be able to make it. Which would be a bloody shame as you're all coming over here!! I'll put thinking hat on.

I would love to come along to this. When would this have to be paid for? Not sure what time I would have to leave Bristol to get to London to get the train but it sounds like fun.

Have you thought about a 24hour trip? Coming back first thing the next morning.

I'm up for it... Might be two tickets for me, I'll check with the Mrs when I get back home on Monday

let me know mate, my mrs will be tagging along aswell.

so far:

lawless23456 x 2 tickets
mattyh x 1 tickets
ekimeno x 1 ticket
wez130 x 1 ticket
shutterman x 1 ticket
toothie x 1 ticket

so far that makes 8 tickets we need at least 10 to be elegable for group rates on the eurostar so feel free to rally support for this i'll give it another 2 weeks for people to get on board and give me definates and then will set about taking deposits/payments and purchase of tickets.

if you want your name added to the list tell me via this thread or pm me and let me know how many tickets your in for.

cheers

Toothie

Ok so what are the details for this trip?

What time will we be getting the eurostar?

is there enough of us for the group ticket?

How much will it cost?

When are we booking it?

Can those of us in kent get on at ebsfleet without effecting the group ticket?

EDIT : ok have been looking into this and to get the £59 fair i would have to get to london for 0630 which according to national rail enquiries i cant do, so looks like i will have to travel from ebsfleet, and meet you on the train.

mattyh
08-07-2008, 11:20
Right.. me & Ruth have been doing a bit of digging... You can get these tickets for the 6th:

http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s306/navaramatty/paris.jpg

If you're travelling from London St Panc, it leaves 15mins earlier and arrives 15mins later.

Is this going to go ahead, or not?

kelack
11-07-2008, 21:53
Any news on whether us Ebbsfleet lot can be part of the group ticket?

shutterman

mattyh
11-07-2008, 22:04
The group deal is £55, the singular price is £59... is it worth making all those that want to get on at Ebbesfleet come to london, for the sake of 4 quid? I'm not worried one way or the other, just thinking what's best for everyone :)

zooki
11-07-2008, 22:06
are you going from st pancras?

mattyh
11-07-2008, 22:09
Someone will be I'm sure.. I don't know if I'm going from St Panc or Ebbesfleet yet

Shutterman

How's this going to work payment wise. Everyone pay Eurostar separately? Or do we wire the money to you (paypal perhaps???)

It's not just that, we can't get to London for the half 6 train. My first train leaves from Meopham at 5.52am which arrives at Victoria for 6.32am. Whereas I live 10 miles from Ebsfleet and loving husband has offered to take me :D

mattyh
12-07-2008, 22:05
That decides it then :)

matty hope you not driving that MarioKart vehicle of yours to Ruths it will never get there!

mattyh
12-07-2008, 22:37
that kart i had last night was awful! Wouldn't stay on the damn course! I gave up in the end...

Will have to have a rerace ;)

Toothie
14-07-2008, 09:39
I would agree with Mattyh seems pointless to pay £4 less and turn the whole thing into a mission as getting to london for 0630 is difficult for those of us in kent looks like it might just be easier to buy our own tickets and meet on the train.

Thoughts??

kelack
14-07-2008, 11:47
£4 is £4 :lol::lol:

I don't mind getting my ticket separate if it spares the aggro

can anyone drive a boat?

DeadlySmurf
14-07-2008, 15:52
yes and sail a boat :D

Mark
14-07-2008, 20:28
can anyone drive a boat?

I don't think they allow boats on Eurostar

zooki
14-07-2008, 21:27
not on it, that would be silly...

sailing a boat is too sensible, driving is better..

me and the boy are going but probably travelling the day before. may see you lot there though:)

hypnotic

05-08-2008, 15:54
It's not going to happen is it, lets be honest ;)

Toothie
05-08-2008, 21:45
its not looking good, but do we need lawless to go to paris cant we just book tickets and meet up?

wez130
05-08-2008, 21:59
Well, i am relying on MattyH going so if he isn't then i'll have to drop out i'm afraid, and it's been 3-4 weeks since OP replied in here so it's looking less and less likely to happen tbh.

kelack
07-08-2008, 22:07
What's to stop any of us organising it then? Ruth, Matty & I (and possibly Nigel (Shutterman)) are going from Ebbsfleet, what about the rest?

Does anyone want to give me a hand sorting this out, I was really looking forward to it :D so I am determined it's going to happen......

Has anyone got in touch with Lawless before we do that though?

lawless23456

hi all

my very sincere apologies with my absence i have been involved with a nightmare of a situation by where long story short i was forced out of my home with the use of blackmail and was left with no choice to move from cornwall to wales. i have had a very stressful couple of months, which has had a great affect on me involving doctors etc. with regards to paris trip im very sorry i havent been here to let people know whats happening etc i have had a message from kelack suggesting some of you take the reigns i will agree with you and sugest this is for the best and i am going to have to give the trip a miss so that i can start the long road of destressing and getting well. once again my apologies for all of you that had got your hopes up i cant apologise enough.

regards lawless

Would have loved to go as Paris is in my blood (my Mum being from there) but maybe another time:)

20-08-2008, 09:08
I also am not able to go, as we're having a week away somewhere instead :)
