...then I think you should!

Shot at f14 at 1/3 sec on a 20D at ISO 100. No sharpening, + 1ev exposure correction in Lightroom and exported. I realise the lighting is poor, but this is a talked about lens, so thought it might encourage a few people to take the leap!

Lovely shot, James. They are good lenses - had one with my 350D.

nice shot really crisp, I love my 17-70 I can't imagine it getting replaced anytime soon only thing that would improve it is fixed aperture through the range but thats not going to happen it's a great compromise bettween speed/length and cost/quality.

Must agree, it is a great little lense. I use it mostly for landscape and have found it to be very versatile.

Had two and both excellent. Ideal travel lens IMO.

Agree that it's a great lens - extremely sharp, versatile and f/2.8 at the wide ends can help sometimes too. Only criticism I have of it is the chronic zoom creep tendency when tilted up or down. Didn't happen at first but as its "worn in" its got worse. Also I have found it frustrating that you need to re-focus after zooming - lost a few shots to that problem.
