sports hall shooting

Hi again. A number of days ago i asked about flash guns now hopefully sorted but recently ive taken basic snap shots and minor posed pics at dog shows that my wife places her dog in. Ive used a decent digital pocket camera indoors with a tissue over the flash to soften it ,up to now ok. This week however i want to use a dynax5oo i have for movement in the ring and on the tables.Problem i wont be able to use flash the lighting will be yellow as its a sports hall . I want to shoot on auto will i get away with a 4oo film ,will this be ok or are there a great deal more things to think about. i do know all light colours will have a tinge due to the lights and look grubby.

400iso film will still be a bit slow I would think. For the lights you use tunsden film? or put a blue filter over the lens to take away the tint to your images. I suppose you could get quite creative with the movement etc
