A mate is looking for a rough price for whole host of gear he’s selling and has asked me to check out what you guys think.

He’s looked on ebay at pricing but much of the gear is either on an auction (which isn’t at the end yet, so no final price) or it’s new gear on a BIN.

He has the following:

Canon EOS 30D (in mint condition with rubber housing/casing)
Sigma 15-30mm EX f/3.5-4.5 EX DG
Canon EF 28 – 135mm f/3.5 – 5.6 USM Image Stabiliser
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mk2
Canon EF 70-300mm USM
Jessops CAF TTL flash
4x Canon batteries

I said he’d get about £850-£900 as a job lot – what do you guys think?

He’s looking at getting a Nikon D300 with either the new 16-85mm VR or the 18-200mm VR, which I guess is about £1400 and he’s happy with that.

He's most prbbaly end up putting it through ebay but he may join TP and sell it on here.

Opinions please… ?

Same as kmlc, I have no idea about a job lot but if you decide to sell it for him on TP (he would need 100 posts before selling), let me know.

I would be interested in the 4 Canon batteries, Canon EF 28 – 135mm f/3.5 – 5.6 USM Image Stabiliser and the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mk2! (although I think kmlc has dibs on that)

Canon EOS 30D (in mint condition with rubber housing/casing) £250-£300
Sigma 15-30mm EX f/3.5-4.5 EX DG £200
Canon EF 28 – 135mm f/3.5 – 5.6 USM Image Stabiliser £180
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mk2 £40
Canon EF 70-300mm USM £160
Jessops CAF TTL flash £40
4x Canon batteries £10 a pop

That is all just a (slightly educated) guess, and as a split I would say just under £1000.
If selling as a job lot, more likely £850.

Post the list to mpbphotography and they will give you a quote, but then add 15-20% for a private sale. That should give you some idea.

Only problem with buying a 50mm f/1.8 is that once you have a 1.8, lens-lust means you then want a 50mm f/1.4 :(

Onestop digital doing nif-fif's at £56.
