had 1/2 hour in the garden this afternoon with my new sigma 70-300mm apo dg lens i must say the quality has surprised me for the price of this lense.

I wish we had a few starlings, they are such pretty birds!!

the settings i used today was iso 400 f5.6 1/250 at 300mm on my canon 350d

and thks for all the comments i will be having another go tomorrow.

Cracking sharp shots Rob - let me see a few more pics and I think I'll be very tempted to buy that lens........:thumbs:

I have the same lens...I do not use it much.
Not keen on the 70 end of the scale... ( But thats just me been picky ).
But without a doubt these pictures are fantastic quality for the lens.

Oh and hello everyone....:lol:
I am Steve, new to this forum.

I also have a Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Lens ( I know some might say they are the lower end of the market lens but I really like it and find that it produces good quality and most of all it is a great "walkabout lens".

But once again mate...Nice pics.
