Is anyone else excited to find out a bit more about this lens? It could be an absolute gem (Hopefully).

As a nikon user i have the option of buying a zeiss but i couldnt justify £300 for a lens with no auto focus also although the nikon 50 1.4 looks pretty decent its a bit long in the tooth.

If they make this one right it could be good for everyone, has anyone else found any good info on it?

Nice to see the price, finally .. however, though I understand the built-in motor is a sure plus, for that price I am not too sure I'd go with this lens over the Nikon f1.4 unless the picture quality was that much better

For the money sigma need to be pulling it right out the bag with this lens

so how do people think this will compare to the canon 50mm 1.4?

£380?!

with Sigma's extremely questionable quality control this better be a stunner of a lens for that price, smack bang between the canon 1.4 and 1.2 pretty much.

No one can say yet m8 but for the price it best blow the canon 1.4 out the water

Yeah the price is a bit high, but I would hope to find the price to be more like 300 quid when it actually hits the market.

I doubt sigma would price it so high unless they thought it was going to be good enough to beat much of the competition, it certainly needs to be a bit special for to be worth that much.

From what I've heard Sigma are very impressed with test results they were getting for this lens, I think they're pretty confident about it.

Alternitive for the sports guys as the canon 50 1.4 is to slow in IMO. Never know, if someone gets a good one?
