A few pics, pretty much straight off the camera with a little border added. These are from Blair Drummond Safari park and are pics of the Lions at breakfast time. (Sorry about the copyright but needs must)

nice shots, looking past the required copyright marks, 1 looks quite a worrying place to be.
3 shows why you should fear these animals.
4 looks like she is stalking something

like these shots, lets hope to see plenty more from you venture with this safari park

Yeah, sorry about the watermarks, unfortunately I have had a number of shots appearing in places they shouldn't be appearing recently.

Thanks for your comments

be a little better to get your name on there as well, so at least if they repost as is, they will at leas thave your name on

Ordinarily I would have my name on the photo as well but didn't want overkill lol.

Personally I think it would be better with a warning something along the lines of "steal my photos and I will set the lions on you"

haha, just picturing you driving down the motorway in a corsa with three lions strapped in the back and one in the front, to recover a stolen image!!!

Absolutely fantastic

So out of interest just how close are we with these and what sort of focal range were you using?

(and is there any form of barrier separating you from being eaten? :D)

The lions can get quite close, to about a metre or so. I just sit in the landrover, windows down and havent had any problems as yet. If they start getting too close I usually pull the lens back in and start to close the window though lol.

I think 1 shot was taken with a 70-200mm (worryingly that was number 1) and the rest taken with a 300mm + 1.4.

So not too close lol

Wow!! Those are all fantastic. I take it you work there?
#1 must have been a bit scary, having a pack of lions charging at you!!

Hi Torpedo, I don't work there as such, but I run photographic safaris there (or will be soon). The first time you see them running across the grass is a bit daunting and you just hope that they have noticed the meat put out for them!!

Nice series Arron.

Good luck with the new venture.

Think you need to get a big wire brush and fluff thier manes up a bit next time though :D
