Lovely picture of the adult starling, picking out all the colours of the plummage.

Don't look the same bird at all do they.

Lovely shots... That's quite some transformation. I'd never have known they were the same species.

The starlings nested up under the eaves outside our back door... so its been really noisy there until last week when they fledged.....but there only seems to be one baby with them.

Which isnt surprising by the size of it.... I cant imagine 6 of these being in a nest up under the eaves!!!

The second shot is stunning, before I came on this site I didn't realise starlings were so colourful and you've captured this one perfectly.

Great insight Janice and a stunning second image to boot. Well done, I would be well pleased If I had taken #2.

I also didn't realise Starlings had such a pretty colour to them. That's an amazing diffrence in the two, but their both so cute!

I also love the fact that their positioned exactly the same way :)

Great couple of shots Janice  You're lucky to only having one fledgling. I counted 13 on our lawn this morning plus about 16 adults  Don't get me wrong they are one of the cutest (as fledglings) and most beautifully coloured birds we get, but bugger me do they eat and eat ... and eat. I'm sure you know what follows after all that eating too... I would love a few less starlings and a few more tits ;)

Amazing shots, especially the 2nd one , I'd say that's some pretty impressive Morphing and Photoshop by Mother Nature :)
