Anyone know where I can get decent, precut, padded tripod legcovers in the uk? (For Gitzo 3540XLS) I've seen some on Warehouse express (Lenscoat ones) but they were a bit too expensive for something that is little more than pipe insulation (And before you say, id prefer something a bit more pro than DIY ones made out of pipe insulation)

Know someone who can sew? Buy yourself some neoprene and make your own... could even be a nice little ebay business... Different colours, camo, even get them printed/embroidered with logos etc....

How about some TP ones?:thumbs::woot:

have you thought about the lenscoat for Gitzo covers at WE?

have a look here (http://www.warehouseexpress.com/product/default.aspx?sku=1017488), it says 3540 ls for the model......but might be worth an email to see if it'll do your xls

hope that helps

I've got the Lenscoat ones and they are great for extra padding when carrying a large camera, lens, tripod combo on your shoulder.

Wildlife Watching Supplies do a set for about £25 I think

Hehe, that was my first thought, but then that would be a good idea for when it is cold and you have to carry it/manipulate it by the legs!

I've done the handlebar tape on GT2540 and like grumpybadger said, the biggest benefit for me is when carrying it on my shoulder.

:thumbs: But I suspect I might end up getting these in the end anyway. Do you find that the CF scratches really easily?

Its more to provide some padding for when I throw the setup over my shoulder to move location.
