View Full Version : Canon 55-250mm F/4-F5.6 IS or 70-200mm f/4L
Canon 55-250mm F/4-F5.6 IS or the canon 70-200mm f/4L
any opinions on these 2 lens is the L lens worth the extra £100
why not consider a 70-200 F/4L, more range though the prime would be sharper.

How important is IS to you? The image quality on the 55-250 is pretty damn good, though the build quality on the L is superior. The 55-250 is lighter but you can't use it on a full frame. The 55-250 is nice and discreet, the L is a bit bling. You can use a TC with the L.
I don't suppose that helped alot really!!

What's TC?
I think Tara is referring to a Tele Converter
I didn't know that a TC couldn't be used with an EFS lens - learn something new every day
Just to add that the 55-250 IS will be my next lens as soon as my Cashback comes through !

Iv owned both.
55-250IS by a flaming country galaxy, beats the 70-200 f4L in every respect that matters.
