i need to get a tripod for my camera, as ive had to return my dads to him and it wasnt very good in the first place.

my criteria are that it must be light (to be taken abroad)
my lenses are 50mm, 85mm, kit lens and im going to buy a 70-200 f 2.8 shortly, probably wont go much longer than that at the moment.
use is more than likely to be for portraiture and landscape, no twitcher here!

thanks guys
i dont have much money to spend, but will listen to all info i get,

:getmecoat :dizzy: :Ponders:  :nut:

I got a Velbon CX300, which is very light, came free with the magazine subscription (can't remember which one). Although is cheap to buy.

I have the D50 and have used a 18-55 and a 70-300 lens on it with no problems

The Velbon Sherpa 250 looks a fair all rounder for those on a budget.

Surprisingly the cheapest place I found it was in Jessops for 60 something.
It comes with the Velbon 157PQ head (or something like that), which is beautifully smooth. Matty has just bought that head on its own to go with some other legs.

Glen I realise that you are only trying to help but in future all items that you wish to sell should be placed in the for sale section of the forums AND include a price, hense I have edited your post.

No need to worry but if I let it slip it by others may follow suit and then the forums get messy and unruley ;)

Just start a thread in the Members Market next time and offer a link. :) I noticed that Whitewash had already seen and responded to your post before I moved it though ;)

Enjoy the site.
