London and the Gherkin building this is all about what it says in the title, angles lines & curves as they are everywhere you look in this image and that is what attracted to take the shot and the person walking by just add the scale to the image.
One or two angles are not 100% but shooting this close up with a wide angle 10 20 mm is not the best choice of lens but I hope it give you a sense of the old and new as I also think its one of those images you need to look at and study a while or say its not for me.

Thanks for looking as always Les F

I think its to dark and there are to many shadows, it is a nice shot though

I love this building and from my one & only short visit have about 20 I call keepers - it's almost harder to get a bad shot of it than a good one

What I really like about this one is the 'city' post you've included, and the curvature of the paint on the road; but I have to agree that I think it's too dark

This corner, and just across the road from it, is one of my fav angles - I have some amazing shadows/reflections from this thing - well worth a visit - but make it a Sunday as the place is pretty much devoid of people

Any more Les? Shall we start a "Show us your Gherkin" thread!

Thanks for the input you two, appreciated. Intention for it to be on the dark side to emphasize the some of the shadows and light for further angles.

I assumed it was intentional, which is why I said 'dark' rather than underexposed as I know your work well enough to know it wouldn't be a mistake

Still a smidge too-dark for me though even with the explanation

Cheers Dave our posts must have crossed, understand some of you may thinks its a bit dark but I explained this above.
This was last Saturday late morning very quite except for a few other togs and tourists with cameras, like you say Dave plenty to go at around here and yes I have one or two more of interest there is also one on my web site and one in a monthly competition which I think the subject is urban this month, no clues of course.

A thread for the Gherkin now there is an idea Dave, cheers for the input mate.

I like the city post in the foreground. Gives something else to focus on.

Yep, Like this shot. As mentioned, it is a tad dark, but that really is a minor issue. Love the composition, which is of course far more important. :)

I find it to be a cool composition, very interesting overall and my eye is lead through nicely. ...

But I didn't get on with it....possibly because its dark.

So pondering on what and the why of my reply I had a look at your gallery, which has some super shots in it btw.

Now the colour version... hehe ...really works for me.
