Got the Nikon 14-24 2.8 lens yesterday and took it out for a quick spin today. God this lens is scary to have on the front of a camera, but first impressions are pretty much what everyone says - it's awesome.
Sample shot - D3, f8, 14mm:

Have tried a bit of a different post processing technique today too - feedback would be appreciated :)

Very nice shot :) ... I have this lens and I know what you mean by scary,
that huge dome of perfect glass, unprotectable by filter, just waiting for clumsy old me to knock it into something

Exactly. I deliberted over this or the Nikon 17-35 for quite a while but went for this in the end. Huge dome of perfect glass = great results but the fact you can't protect it with a filter or stick a polarizer on it is still worrying me a bit. It's a stand out lens though in more ways than one...

Shameless bump. Any more comments before I turn in for an early night?...
Very nice, I love wide shots! :D

like the bluey B&W, and the girl, but wide angle isn't my thing - sorry :)

Thanks for the feedback folks. Wide aside, I'm quite keen myself on the processing technique and it's something I'll use in future.
