Don't worry Yvonne help maybe at hand! I might do another cream tea meet but with a visit to a different attraction nearby instead of Blubell Railway. The Llamas centre might be one idea!
I forgot to say KOG - thank you for organising yesterday's trip - it was great fun and I enjoyed meeting everyone.
This is the sort of image I was looking for (guess who accidently changed the ISO and did not notice till she got home :bonk: )

I am SOOO jealous ! not, I hasten to add, of the cream tea, but of sight and smell of all those wonderful engines. We were members for many years (until son grew up) and got to ride in the Observation Car at no extra cost -
Sally
We did not use the observation car but the disabled carriage - had seats in each corner and a few normal chairs spread thoughout the carriage which meant we could move around freely - and most of us did, and have easy access to the windows (and doors at each end of the carriage). We had it to ourselves - which was probably just as well :-)

Some good shots there Ruth. A few perhaps too dark but considering it was your first day with new camera, nice one! Like the b&w picture.

Thank you
I would agree, getting the exposure right was my biggest issue with the camera. i had lots of blown highlights when i got home and they ones that didn't apeared a bit dark. But as you say first time with the camera and the fstops and focal lengths don't match with SLRs so i need to get used to it:)
Most of mine are pretty poor to be honest... Far too much camera shake on the ones inside the train and the same problem with those I handheld with the bigger zoom on.
Ah well, just an excuse to back down there again later in the summer....

Ha, tell me about it! On Friday, some bright spark decided to do their speeches whilst the train was moving... nightmare :help:

I'll certainly be going down to my second home on a regular basis!
This was the 12 o'clock train setting off from the station

I am just amazed at some of the shots you can sometimes get with a decent lens (70-200 IS F/2.8 on a 350D). This was ISO 400, as previously mentioned I accidentally switched it to this and did not notice. 1/400, f/5.0. 70mm grabbed shot from a moving train. I have shown the crop with the full image it came from
