Silver Dollar

Hi,
I'm very new to the world of DSLR photography and purchased a Nikon D40 last weekend.
I was looking at a new lens for my D40.
I've seen this on Amazon and it seems a good price
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikon-55-200MM-F4-5-5-6G-AF-S-Black/dp/B000O161X0/ref=pd_sbs_ce?ie=UTF8&qid=1212322783&sr=1-1
1) Is the lens any good?
2) Is it a good price?
Thanks in advance
no idea about quality but http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/cat11.html shows it at £110 or for £130 you get a slightly faster version with VR (built in stabiliser)
I have one of these on my D60 and I purchased it recently from Allcam World of Portables via Amazon. Very happy with the prompt delivery and the lens. You will likely find it a bit cheaper elsewhere but buying via Amazon gives you confidence that the vendor should provide reasonable service. I was prepared to pay £10 to £15 extra for that
:)I have one of these on my D60 which takes the same types of lense as the D40. I am a bit of a beginer but so far I am pleased with the lens. Like the others said you can get this a tad cheaper on other sites. I have seen this at £129, but check delivery charges before commiting.
Hope this helps.
Mike
:cuckoo:Opps I forgot to say that the lens you are looking for has VR so should be ok.

It's a very good lens at a good price. I have i on a D40x.
The only thing to watch out for is that it is a telephoto and you will need to keep taking it off and putting the kit lens on (if you have it) for wide angle shots.
It's a lot more money (circa £400) but the 18-200 VR is one which would stay on your camera all the time.
