New Bird Table Antics

Got me a new bird feeder / table at weekend, and within an hour of it going up, all hell breaks loose. At one point i counted 34 Starlings on the lawn!

Its a pity i dont have a better backdrop, or more reach, but what can you do?

All are fairly heavy crops and at ISO 800 on the E-3 and 50-200 SWD

:lol: love how these feeders are propagating all over TP!! Got some great shots there mate, now all you need to do is get busy with cable ties and some branches, give the birds natural looking perches as they land at the feeder :thumbs:

Attach a branch to the upright of the feeder long enough to just get the tray out of shot and you will be surprised how many will use it as a landing zone - It can be helpful to prefocus on this as when you spot a target the lense will snap into focus much more quickly.

Have fun - I waste hours watching the antics round my feeders - well in addition to supping coffee and a place to puff my pipe!
