Was really looking forward to the Dinner & Dance on Saturday, had the cards all donw for the tables saying to grab me throughout the night to take photographs, had my background all set up and had worked out the best place for it, lighting etc etc.

Got out the door, started walking down the road and turned to hubby and went whhops - left cf cards on the coffee table, he ran back to get them.

Then I got on the coach, half way to venue, I thought "b*****" - haven't charged the batteries since I last used them. No matter I thought, there will be enough charge in them for the evening

Got to venue

One battery flashing, the other on 1 bar :(:(:(:(:(

Managed to get some portraits done and all the awards before it gave out.

But meant I got to spend more time at the bar and talking to friends which I don't usually get to do much.

I think next year, we're going to hire someone to do it :D

Check everything twice before leaving home. It is the only way.

And always take your charger! There will always be somewhere to plug it in :)

Choccies went down very well

and I usually have my charger but I took it out for the flash to fit in

Need a bigger bag

Not a lesson learned I'm afraid as I have left the battery charging in the wall before now, luckily I was at a home game so only half a mile from home!

lol, I shouldn't worry. You could've come back with no shots at all!

At least you didn't fill somebodies 1.5mill house with smoke after lighting a fire in the woodburner with paper and forgetting to open the flu!!!!!!!

They haven't come out too bad, I'm pleased with a couple of them but still quite gutted.
