Finally finished going through my shots from the weekend. Took rather a lot so it's a real tough job trying to pick out the ones that I like and also those I think other people will like.

Cracking weekend's racing, and I'm a little surprised only desantnik has posted anything from the event.

C&C always welcome. There's a few more on my Flickr page if you haven't had enough by now (see sig).

I was at Mallory Park on Weds for some car and bike testing shots and it hammered it down while they were getting ready for the weekend.

Cracking stuff mate! I reckon MX actually seems to produce the most lively and vivid photos of all the stuff we shoot.

That last one of the winner across the line punching the air is superb! Mind you, the opening lap "crowd" is also really nice - trouble is you get but one crack at that and then they are all spread out.

I had two chances on Saturday, managed to hit one but the second time some fat blokes with an air horn just seemed to want to leap around in front of me for no good reason. Got some nice red airhorn blobs in my pics :(

But you pulled it off and they are excellent shots - would make a nice large print methinks :D

BTW - not that I care much for MX as a sport or even who wins - this is pure photography for me! Superbike/MotoGP on the other hand :D

Cheers. I have to say if you'd had the chance to watch the races you may change your mind about that. I was standing on one of the early corners for an MX2 race and the sheer sense of speed and energy sent a real tingle down my spine. I don't use words like awesome very much, but it bloody was :D

Very photogenic and there's not many sports events these days where the public can get so close to the action. I am sold on MX now. Bring on Foxhills and MXdN!

It certainly is true there isnt much motorsport you can get that close to anymore... except maybe the TT :D

By any chance does someone have a calender for motocross?? I would like a bash at this one day.

BTW... talking to Nat on the phone earlier, we commented on how little muck seemed to be flying around in any of the photos. A little bit of dust late on but given the loose surface there wasn't much dirt flying which made all of the shots seem a little less frantic than MX shots normally are.

Weird eh?

Yep. These are amazing pic's. I'm already planning on going to the Maxxis British MX Championship when it comes up North to Brampton, and seeing these shots makes the wait even harder :D
