View Full Version : Shallow mist in Kent.
Spotted this while on the way to work on the 5th June. It made me pull over the car and take some pictures of it. Here's just the one of them.
The colour and brightness has not been altered or enhanced, just fiddled about with the frame to make the whole thing look more . . . well . . . nicer!
Location: near Etchinghill. Time: at an inhumane time of the day!

I do like the image, but not the border I'm afraid.

I think you've got the jist that nobody is really loving that border,
It's a shame as the shot looks really good !
:D Thanks for the lovely comments about the picture itself, but yes, I did have a feeling that perhaps the border was a bit distracting. It's funny really as I very rarely add fancy borders to my pictures so it's something I won't be doing, or at least keep to the minimum. A great way to learn, so your comments came in useful!
Anyhow, here's the borderless version.

You don't have to give up adding borders just because of that one, try something a bit more simple like this ...

Ok I hated that border, much better without. But then you guessed that already ;)
Oh yes, David B, that does look very nice! Can see how it does work, many thanks.
Today's lesson for me: avoid heavy fancy ragged borders. Keep it simple or no borders. :)

Agree on all previous comments about the border. Otherwise, super shot
Original border was distracting and invasive for me.
That is a great image and now you have removed the border.

Fantastic image
You've really captured the atmosphere well :)
Thanks for the comments everyone!
By the way, would you be surprised if you was to find out that this picture was taken with a humble £79 Fuji A900? (a knockabout camera I carry with me at all times).
As we heads towards and deeper into Autumn, I should start to see some more of that, that's when I'll be using my Nikon D40. It's also when I'll have more time for myself as the work situation eases back (I'm a tomato farmer :)) - so watch this space.
