How good is this lens?

looking to pick one up today maybe :)

want it for wildlife & macro :)

It's a great lens for the money but don't expect crisp sharp results at the long end. Up to 200mm or so the Sigmas are excellent but tend to soften after that. This can be said of pretty much all lower price range zooms though.

even though it goes soft , it can still be rectified in photoshop ? or isnt it worth skimping on the lens & getting a better one, for wildlife.

I have this lens for the price you can’t beat it. Wide open its soft but step it down a bit and it’s very nice.:clap:

Good lens but I've just changed mine for a Canon 55-250 IS which is only a little extra. Id check out some of the shots and reviews taken with that before deciding. Maybe pop into a shop and try them both out?
