View Full Version : Transferring Compact Disc to Laptop
Hi
Playcom sell a Sandisk Compact Disk to PCMIA adapter for transferring images. As this will free up a USB port on my laptop does anyone know how this compares speedwise (or anything else for that matter) to using a separate USB card reader.
Cheers
Peter
I think you mean compact flash rather than compact disk ;)
I have a similar adaptor. I found PCMCIA to be reliable - but slow. I now take a small sandisk USB CF reader with me to use with the laptop as it is much faster. So in my experience it works well but takes twice as long :)

Try the blue sale in Jessops. If you are lucky, you may pick one up for under a quid. ;)
Thanks Foiks
Ive suddenly realised I've got a Kodak one somewhere in the attic:bonk:
although if it's that slow I might just get a usb splitter
Thanks
Pete
