but how will you hide from Mrs Steveo?
Well she walked past it when it was left on the door step by the postman so not sure she will notice it!!!!
She knew about it when I purchased it, being half the price of a new one it didn't take much persuasion.
Oh yeah I couldn't believe it was left on the door step.:bang::bang::bang:

There was a thread a year or 2 ago about the Bigma and JoeT posted a pic of the 120-300. That was it. Fatal Attraction.

get some pic's done then
Nice catch you got there, enjoy.
A bit off topic, if I may! I would like to ask how safe do you feel your D200 is when mounted on to that lens, or the 70-200VR, with the TC on the tripod?
I’m just about to receive my TC and am worried about how strong the linkage would be to hold-up the camera for prolonged time, or even when carrying the camera about?

If the cloud clears this afternoon I will try to get some shots of the moon tonight when I get home but if not thens its going to have to wait till Saturday or Sunday to get down the beach and do some surfing shots.

My D300 is fine when mounted on the lens, no fears at all that its going to fall off!

That is a great lens. I borrowed one for a week whilst waiting for my 200-400mm. I loved it. I'm still thinking about going back and buying it just because it was so nice! Worked well with the 1.4.
You take good care of it. Briiliant piece of kit.

I have a Sigma 120-300mm F/2.8 with a 1.4TC, it's fine as long as you're not using the camera tripod mount, mine has the larger mount which is finger shaped so doubles up as a handle same as the one in adamski's picture, well worth buying one as it's much better than the standard mount.

Now all you need is a truss for you're hernia !
Im surprised it's shorter than the 70-200 2.8!
Steveo,
Thanks for the feedback, happy shooting ☺
wack61,
When you say you use the mount that’s like a finger, I presume you mean the one that’s on the lens? If not, would you be kind enough to post a picture of it, or a link to where I may find something like that?
Also, what about when your camera is not mounted? I have been very happy to have my 70-200VR, 300 etc. lenses hang from my camera as I walk around without much fear that the lens would snap off and break away from the body; but I am worried of doing this with a TC in the middle! This is my quandary, is the TC coupling (to both the camera body and the lens) strong enough for me to walk around with the lens, TC and camera all connected without worrying that one of them will give way and snap?
