The Lambo shot is a cracker. Looks like a return nudge as the car on the right has a green beard from an earlier off.
Really like the first shot too. Good sense of speed for a front on shot and it looks pretty sharp front to back.
#7 doesn't really work for me. Too much is blurred, and needs a slightly faster shutter. I know somebody will be along to disagree with that shortly ;)
Nice set though. Was going to go to this, but was put off by some discouraging comments about Snetterton being flat and boring, not all the circuit being accessible etc. Would be interested to hear your comments on that.

NIce shots, really like the lambo one.
Those shots are all ace! No7 does work for me. Love the first 2, but No1 steals it, bloody great angle.

flat, yes.. boring, no :)
there are some bits of track where spectators can get almost as close as the photographers.. but then again you cant get to the inside of Riches, or any of Sear unless you have a media pass.
great little circuit though, but then i was born there so i have a soft spot for it.

born at snetterton? ;)
Some great shots there.
#1 - pretty cool..although i guess you could of left some space on where the car has just come from. Looks the driver is thinking "nearly there, bit less front wing, and i can take out that damn photographer and make it look like i understeered wide...*evil laugh*.."
#2 - nice arty shot :)
#3 - good caption ;)
#4 - pretty good, but i think it has too much grass. Perhaps better if the car was filling the shot more.
#5 - i like
#6 - raining? nah, i sneezed ;)
#7 - i think it would work if the dodge was dead centre and the only car in shot.
#8 - see #5
#9 - there must be a funny caption to go along with that..but i cant think of anything right now..i'll post again if/when i think of something ;)
#10 - cant really think of anything for it...
:)
Some nice shots never nice to get wet, but it can add to the image at times.
Not one of my fav tracks tbh, bloody windy most of the time, and limited places due distance for the bikes, but great place for car racing and spectators as you can see a few corners at the same time. Would love a pass for there though as i feel theres some cracking angles to be had.
agree with Gary - flat - mostly. Boring - no. Windy - its an airfield circuit, airfields are always windy!
Very little in the way of catch fencing (although that will probably change) and there are plenty of good angles. Two prime overtaking spots at the end of the Revett Straight (longest straight in the UK) into the Esses, and from Corum curve into Russells Chicane a tricky right - left onto the start finish straight. This is often the scene of a first lap tangle or a do or die manoever towards the end of a race.
There is really only one corner the public can't have a crack at with a 300mm lens. Sear's is fenced off (low level fence), but all the others can be used.

Badgerbaiter/Andrewc: Can you still get to the inside at Riches? Years ago we had our club enclosure up there, just wondered if access has changed. (Only been twice in the last ten years.) Mind you it has all changed a lot since I first went there in about 1967 !!!!

#8 is just superb
#7 errr no sorry :D You keep experimenting with that shot don't you? hehe
If its any consolation my weekend too was of p***ing rain sat and burning sunday...
Great shots as always Gary, on track stuff is usual high standard, but really liking #2 and the champagne shot
#7 is a far better effort than the ones I failed dismally at brands a couple of weeks ago, not sure this one entirely works, but its getting there, you will soon have it cracked.
Love the first 1 in the rain. Great shots, are you doing the F1 GP at Silverstone?

Probably only as a punter if he is... have you seen the press accreditation for F1??? Its nuts!
the lambo gardening competition is a great shot. with no. 7 have you played with it in photoshop to get the blur effect on the dodge or is that straight from the camera? think it would look better without the back of the no.55 car imo.

i wouldnt mind doing it for the experience, but i havent been asked.
i'm not going to be all snobby and say how i wouldnt go to an f1 race because its so boring and not as good as the 1970's etc etc, but i think the money you could spend on going to F1 at Silverstone would be better off spent seeing LMES at Spa or something like that.

They have a f1 trials day coming up soon not televised-didnt seem expensive to me.

ah yeah, i can see that from the summary data. its a great effect.

its only £10 per day but it is cheap because a) they cant guarentee how many teams/drivers/cars will be present or how many laps they will do, and b) because they only let you have access to the stadium area which is not particularly good for photography. it is worthwhilie if you just want to sit and spectate though.

Yes, if you have never seen a F1 car with your own eyes and ears, then this is a good ten quid spent. Obviously though there is even less action than F1 usually has, so don't expect to see racing!
As Walto says you will find photography a frustrating experience, so don't go just for that...
Just for information, its £12 each this year for advanced tickets and there will be NO paying on the gates, so make sure you have booked them soon

Used to be free, but then they twigged that they could charge entry and people would still come. Worth going to!
As its immediatley before the British GP you will find most of the teams running with both drivers (although they sometimes run one driver one day, and the other driver on another day)
