Lovely picture, and a fantastic part of the UK - for me, it's shame that tree's had the top lopped off.

Yes more tree needed, and maybe B&W?

I agree about the tree, I think I should have stepped further back.

B&W - that's a travesty when we have such superb colours in Pembrokeshire.:bonk:

Thank you both for your comments - much appreciated.

Thanks JPS. We are really very lucky. Glad you enjoyed your visit to Pembs.

Looks nice , about the tree' perhaps an edit of the shot cloning some sky above the tree to make it look like it was in frame? :)

I did give it a try - sky wasn't a problem but making a new tree top from existing bits didn't work out.

You have dramatic scenery and I think B&W suits it - not that I'm any good at it, but here's a rough idea:

Thanks for trying, but no I'm afraid the B&W does nothing for me

Nice shot - from the place I hail from! :D

Are you doing much of the Coast Path or was that just a day trip?

If you want a nice part of the world to walk - try from Marloes round to Deer Park and beyond - lush scenery and great for sunsets too! :D

We live about 100yds from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and have walked every inch of it several times. It's such a beautiful area and we never tire of it. Wherever we travel to we still think it's the best place of all. It has everything. I bet you really miss it - do you come back often?

Ah right - lucky you! :D

I do miss it, but alas don't get back as much as I'd like to be honest. Am really hankering after a trip to Skomer this year - but it doesn't look like it'll happen !! :(

Hi HWG

I like the composition of this photo, but was it taken in the middle of the day, as the light seems a little harsh?

I'll be doing sections of the walk during the summer, as I seem to have plenty of time on my hands at the moment. What section of the path would you recommend?

Thanks

Gerald

Hi Gerald, it really depends on where you are intending to stay. There are some lovely views on the Saundersfoot to Tenby Path, avoid Tenby to Manorbier as this is quite disappointing, but Manorbier to SwanLake Bay, and then onto Freshwater is a nice stretch.

The section which we did yesterday is also very nice. We started at Moylegrove and then continued on to Poppit. There are some lovely views along this stretch, but avoid doing the circular walk going inland as a lot of the footpaths have been blocked, and it rather spoilt our walk. The footpath officer has been informed so maybe it will be sorted by the time you walk there.

Strumble is another nice section and well worth doing. When you have some plans just pm me and I will tell you what it's like.

Yes it was taken at 2 in the afternoon and the light was very bright.

Cheers Barbara. I'll being staying in Manorbier for a few nights, theres a cheap camp site on the edge of Manorbier that will allow dogs, and I know the beach and castle at Manorbier are a nice area, but will be looking to branch out from there over a few days.

Thanks for the tip on the blocked paths, this is annoying. I'll drop you a pm closer to the date. I'll be heading down that way once the house is sold, hopefully within the next 3 weeks.

That angled tree makes the wonky horizon more noticeable ;)

Nice scene. Maybe its my eyes but it looks somehow a bit hazy - like it all isn't as sharp as it should be. Guess it could be a touch of movement blur.

Did you use a polariser? Might have given it more punch if you didn't.

ah my old home, stunning area of the country.

When I was a kid we would hide in the old train tunnels at Saundersfoot and make ghost sounds to scare the people walking through.

You should head down to bosherston and barafundle - really special place http://www.panoramio.com/photo/4534251

I have family in and around the Tenby/St.Florence area - fantastic area, but would also recommend the Dale peninsula, if you get round that far.

I like the idea of the shot, agree about the "clipped" tree though.

Spent sometime walking in Pembrokeshire a few years ago, mainly around St Davids/Fishguard - great coastal scenery

I've just got back from the Lleyn Peninsula, near Aberdaron & it's great too, terrible waymarkings on the coastal path though !!

I don't think that the horizon is wonky. It looks perfectly straight to me so I checked it against a horizontal line - see below.

It looks sharp on my monitor, but then I didn't want it to be too sharp as I like the hazy look. No I didn't use a polariser - it's just taken as it was.

Thanks for your comments anyway, sorry I can't agree with them though.

I bet you're missing it. Here's a photo I took of Barafundel a few years ago, hope it brings back fond memories.
