Hey all,

I have bought a second hand D70 and was looking to get some bigger CF cards for it as it onl had a couple of 256mb. As it's an older camera is there any compatibilty issues with newer CF cards i need to be aware of?

All CF cards should work .. if not then the issue is with the CF card and not the camera (regardless of camera)!

There are two types of CF card, Type I and Type II. Type II cards are slightly thicker (3.5mm -> 5mm, I think.)

Type I cards fit in a Type II slot, Type II cards do not fit in a Type I slot. The electrical contact is the same size, just the physical dimensions are different.

The D70 is compatible with Type I and Type II cards, so no problem there :).

I believe the D70 cannot transfer any faster than the Sandisk ULTRA II's, so depending on the price it may be worth going for them instead of higher speed ones. But, I suppose if theres not much price difference then opt for the higher speed ones as you will most likely keep them next time you upgrade :D
