Not much point having anything exciting on the roads around here, too many donkeys and tractors around.
Generally an Audi A6 estate - comfy, huge, eats up the miles and economical to run. For round town when its only 2 or less traveling we have a convertible smart car that my wife and daughter love to bits - not so huge or comfy but its actually pretty good fun to drive on a sunny day and for a 2nd car is about as cheap as they get!!
A 2001 Shogun V6 LWB most of the time. Sometimes the other half lets me drive hers.....

A 10 year old Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 which is just about to tip over 169,000 in the next week. Best car I've ever owned and the only one I've had longer than 2 years. Bought it to replace the Fiesta Si I had which was costing me a fortune to run in both fuel and parts. It had only 2,500 miles on it at 2.5 years old as it was an ex mobility car. Am seriously looking around at something else at the minute but am loathed to part with Clarrisa.

Nice motor CT!
I`m gutted, I`ve always had hondas and really, really wanted a new type-r. However I had a standard civic as a courtesy car whilst mine was being serviced, I just couldn`t get on with it. Crap rear vision, it`s like being in a cocoon! Funky dash though.
I know what you mean - in practice though it's a bit of a non issue and it does reduce rear dazzle at night.

Seat Leon FR 1.9 TDI - Goes like stink and still does 50mpg :)
Funnily enough, a friend of ours has a Skoda Fabia VRS diesel.... its easily a match for our Clio 172, with an average mpg of 50  Admittedly, the lower price shows in the interior trim level [or more accurately, lack of], but for a very capable, fast, nicely handing car, its a real gem.

nice car. What do you think of the new Cupra - it looks good :)
I don't like it  It just looks boring, there's not enough to distinguish it from the FR, if I was going to get a cupra i'd get the Mk1 (and before anyone says anything, the only reason some Mk1 FR's have the Cupra bodykit on is because Seat had a shed loads of kits to get rid of before the Mk2 came out so started shoving them on the FR Tdi's!!!). They have no excuse with the Mk2.
LadyLens: As you probably know, mine shares the same tdi engine as the VRS (as well as the golf and A3), and must agree its stonkingly fast, i've suprised many a golf gti! The interior of the Leon isn't too bad, not far of VW spec really (last car was a VW), but nowhere near Audi.
To be honest, i'd be suprised if i go back to petrol again, diesels are great once you get used to em!
Feenster: I nearly got a platinum grey one like yours (great colour) , but this FR+ came up and i couldnt resist :)

Used to drive a BMW 323, then a Mercedes C220, then 3 years ago I got seriously fed up with all the traffic jams, road works, and delays that I decided to hell with it and sold up.
For me being self employed, time is money, and so I now travel everywhere by train, plane or taxi... :)

Don't actually know sorry, had a blow out on the 1.4 due to missing air filter and pumabuild replaced the engine with that :) as the price was right. The engine is 3/4 years newer than the car.

Don't worry Joe, the remap is on its way (DMS). It'll take it to 285bhp and 650NM. The torque in it is insane enough as it is to be honest. :cuckoo:

Cheap cars to buy now, but you just need to keep money back in reserve for the servicing/bills. General estimate is £3k per year, but luckily I'm nowhere near that.
However - Ferrarri beating performance for a fraction of the money.
performance figures from mine
weight 1160kg, 346bhp, 330 ft/lbs toque
0-60 in 4.2 secs, standing 3/4 mile in 26 secs at 155mph, standing mile in 31.8 secs at 177mph
There's not much to keep up with it :D
I'll keep them small

Byker,
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! I've always loved Trevors!
Nice TVR - wouldn't fancy the bills though if you got a dodgy one.
No 2 son has just ordered a Civic Type-R GT in Milano Red, so two identical cars in the family. Delivery 30th Nov, which is his birthday.

Can get expensive, but there's really not much to them so if you do get a dodgy one once it's sorted it's fine.
Engine £5k for a total rebuild, clutch total replacement with an uprated one is £1200 including master & slave cylinder. Tyres about £100 each, brake pads (good ones) about £150 a set.
However - mine cost me £340 last year for the 6K service.
Yuo really do have to put all the above into perspective against performance though. A similar performance Ferrari, porsche etc would cost 5 times the figures above.
It's a car to make you smile whether you drive it or not.

Have to say I really don't like motorsport threads but then I don't interject on someone else's to say so. I feel it's a perfect opportunity to show an "easy to take" subject as each of us has some sort or transport in the "stable", even if it is mum's or dad's.

I love the two Type R's!
The model that CTR Chris has is a strong contender for my next car, how do you find it mate? Whats the ride like, rattles etc and comfort?
I'll answer that in Chris's absence. :D That model is the EP3 (The new model is the FM2) I ran a Nighthawk Black EP3 for 4.5 years, which is the longest I've ever kept a car, basically waiting for the new model to be available. There were no rattles whatsoever and no major issues at all in the time I had it. There's little sound deadening used in the car at all, so road/tyre noise is intrusive but it's really all about performance being the prime consideration. The handling is superb. On a really long run it can be tiring although it didn't bother me unduly I have to say, but you wont be listening to the stereo much at motorway speeds. ;)
Like all VTEC engines, you can potter round like Miss Daisy, changing up early, and it's still a very quick car, even if you never get it on that second cam. Plant the throttle though and once you're exploiting the full rev range on that second cam in all 6 gears, it's a totally manic road rocket.
The stock seats are very comfortable, some of the best I've sat in, but if you look around you might pick up an Anniversary Edition (AE30) with pucka Red Recaro seats.
Just get one!
hmmm I've had a few bikes that have ridden like hairy goats but never actually ridden a goat...not sure I want to know anymore than that . I don't have a pic of my current ride, a 1988 Guzzi Sport.....and I don't think anybody really wants to see one, they were ugly in 1988 and they still are....but they are reliable!

Must say I am glad to see some variety here so far. The threads normally end up with 400 subura imprezzas and 800 BMWs. So its nice to see.
Sometimes if i dont like something I say so. Hope thats OK, just felt like telling my opinion. Wasnt meant to be offensive (although it seems some people take everything i say as offence!).

Hmmm..... Ok then.
1. I didn't "just did".(Interject, that is) I originated the thread..... Doh!
2. The relevance of the link to your thread is that it has even less to do with photography than mine, I would humbly suggest, there's not even a picture on the thread you promulgated here and.... It's not even a "photographic" bargain which is what I thought the bargains were about.
3. Even though it's your opinion and you are surely entitled to it, if you have ever posted here, or anywhere else for that matter, you are being hypocritical as to do so (post) is to enter into the "show us yours" category.
4. I am certainly not offended by what you say but I am happy to justify anything I say or do.
So in my opinion..... Crash & Burn.

You also score by having a Nikon...... Almost makes up for no bike, almost.;) Nice lines on the car btw.
Wondered where you had gotten to FB. Nice wheels, and thanks to Brash as well. The bikers are arriving now!
I love the two Type R's!
The model that CTR Chris has is a strong contender for my next car, how do you find it mate? Whats the ride like, rattles etc and comfort?
Oi! there's 3 (4if you count Ross' later post) Type-R's in this thread. Some are just a little more rare than others ;)
EP3 Type-R's are veru easy to live with and capable for long journeys. I'm like CT in that I had Civic Type-R's for almost 5 years before switching to the Accord.
great cars that I might well go back to if I can't get over the back end of the FN2:thumbsdown:

This is my current steed. Unfortunately it dosnt look exactly like that at the mo as some ***** delivery driver from City Link decided he would drive into it in the car park :bat: this happened just before Christmas.
I watched the guy do it through the widow and when I went running outside he decided to hope no one had seen and carried on with his deliveries. When i approached him he said I think i might have clipped it, to which my responce was if you just clipped it why were you trying to pick it up out of the hedge you knocked it through???
Repair costs are Just shy of 3k and for the pleasure of watching this I get to pay the first £500.00

This is my current drive :
http://www.prezzybox.com/data/media/11924.jpg
Its chipped and is currently pushing 6,000,000 bhp and I've fitted extra pinstripe since this pic was took which has added an extra 300hp. I'm thinking of changing it to a Noddy car next year as its getting a bit expensive to maintain. Either that or a Macca Pacca scooter, could stick a couple of superchargers on one of those and it would trash the likes of noddy cars and such like....
