for best - rover p6 2200sc
for fun - modded mini clubman estate with some seriously weird paint on it
i would post pictures but im not at home at the moment.
come on guys, what do you drive, or even ride if thats your tipple
:thumb:
I've had a Toyota Camry V6 since new in '97. Nothing gone wrong. Highly unfashionable in the UK. Despite having no faults I have finally decided to replace it as I intend to do more mileage now and it is thirsty.
So totally undecided but I've had estates in the past so I'm thinking estate, diesel, automatic.... exciting eh?

51 reg Toyota Yaris T Sport in metallic blue. My other half has a Toyota Celica GT4 but I'm not allowed to drive it :(
A P6 rover looks seriously cool these days. I always liked the p5 & amazingly the new Chrysler 300C doesn't look to disimilar in proportions. Like any fashion it goes round in circles.....we'll all be driving Model T's next year ;)
I can always remember seeing one seriously cool dude driving a P5 painted purely in matt dark grey primer.....it looked very menacing. Oooh found one on EBAY (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1973-ROVER-grey-P5-ONE-OWNER-VEHICLE_W0QQitemZ4630026932QQcategoryZ29759QQssPag eNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Well, I'm just short of 6 foot and drive a clio 1.5 DCi, 60 mpg :D
The wife's just over 5 foot and drives a Nissan Navara D40. :suspect1: :Ponders:
98 Mondeo 2.0 GhiaX. Has now covered 192,000 miles and doesn't miss a beat. (Well only Christmas 2004 when the battery died). Would like a newer Mondeo but as this one is refusing to die I think I'll keep it just to see howe far she'll go.

my car is in desperate need of a good wash, some birds let rip on it on wednesday and peppered it with no less that 12 splodges of poo!
1.5DCi Clio for me - just done about 2500 miles in in in a fortnight on holiday on £200 worth of diesel. Fairly chuffed with that! I can also officially report that it has a damn fine handbrake too - after the ferry crossing we had coming back this is a very good thing!
Acording to er in doors, i drive her nuts,

I drive a great Ford Ka, its black, its filthy and has no stereo or speakers thanks to local youth. It also has cable ties around something that kept rattling under the bonnet. It also has somethig wrong with it at the mo in that it does only 200miles to a full tank at £35. Oh i love my car!?!

*sniggers* - anyone else remember the Top Gear review of the ST when they first brought it out? Firstly they pointed out that the letters "ST" in a females vocabulary, more usually refer to something which would generally be required once a month......Clarkson then went on to muse that he "hoped they'd bring out a diesel version........."

I like it when people say that it's not a proper Mini - what they really mean is, it won't fall into small pieces of rust in a few months, and I stand a decent chance of not being splattered if a large moth might happen to fly into me at speed.

Bugger! I've had a slow puncture all over the weekend and BH. Just been to get it sorted and the nearly-new tyre is a write off - screw through the tread right on the shoulder where it meets the tyre wall. That's 105 quid I wont be spending on gear this month. :annoyed:
That'll teach you to have low profile tyres!
Need some rear boots for mine too, £120 each. Boo hoo!

Gone are the fun filled sports car days of old replaced by practicality and 5 doors.

I have had a number of vehicles which I can be proud of in the past and some of which I see others have or have had. Most different in a strange but not financial sense way was a Subaru SVX.
Just sold my Golf GTI under ayear old this year to replace with a VW transporter Van  It carries all the other toys. :D

As i have limited access to the internet just now I can't post a pic (from work) but I've had a few cars.....
Never had much money in my younger years so I had old cars just to get around
Seat Ibiza - bought new and shared with girlfriend at the time - 3 months later she owned :)
Lovely green old shape Vauxhall Astra Y reggie i think!
Ford Escort
Another Astra
Rover 214i
Vauxhall Vectra SRi - Nice and new and my first company car :)
BMW 318SE - beautiful car
Now I have a BMW 120D :(. Not really a fan of the 1 series. Looks nice but the 3series was much better. 1 series is too small
Next car - likely to be a Honda Accord I think. Need a family size saloon.

I love my little Honda Jazz.............it's a bit like a TARDIS: small on the outside but loads of room inside. Son seems to have it more than I do these days though! ;) It's just brill and turns on a sixpence.
My other vehicle is a Mitsubishi Pajaero. Bought originally for pulling gliders out of fields etc, I tend to use this more or less all the time now. I love being high up as it gives a great field of view, but it's a bit thirsty (28mpg, diesel) and has a truely awful turning circle. Lovely cream leather seats.
I put unleaded fuel in mine last night :( Only 1/3rd of a tank. Its at the garage right now, having the fuel all drained out :(

My current car is a 2001 BMW 330i, my car before that was a 1999 996 Carrera Cabriolet (honest!) but I sold it a couple of years ago for something more practical and less attention seeking (of the wrong sort) .

I was very lucky ***' a couple of weeks ago as the local Porsche garage in Silverstone asked if I wanted to try out a new 997 for 24 hours. Snapped their hand off and took a drive to Cheltenham for the day for a lovely lunch.
Thankfully, doesn't want to make me re-mortgage the house, 24 hours was enough.
The car I aspire to though is a White Triumph Stag from the 1970's. I was a member of the owners club for a couple of years without actually buying one. My first three cars were 'Triumphs', brought up near the factory in Coventry and still love them. I used to spend summers tinkering with them at my uncles garage. Aaahhhh, real romance!

Blimey...talk about bringing back memories! There was a guy lived down the road from me when I lived in Wales who owned a "slightly" modified Clubman estate. It had a 1750cc Maxi lump shoehorned into it. Flew pretty well as I recall though always made you wonder if the brakes where made of soft cheese :D
For the life of me I can't recall what rims he had on it other than they were Austin Rover alloys...13" Metro turbo maybe?

I drive a purple Ford KA but i'm saving for a real car!
We currently drive a '98 Saab 9-3 which we bought just under 2 1/2 years ago to replace an '85 Saab 900i.
There was mechanically wrong with the old Saab but was just starting to get to the point where the bodywork was starting to look a little scruffy and we don't have a garage...let alone any skill with a sander and spray paint.
I bought the 900i in 1998 for £350 with 10 months MOT and some tax too iirc along with enough service history to drown a taxman in paperwork and 183K on the clock (Still on original head gasket). Over the next 6 years it flew through every MOT. The only expense other than regular service items every 6mths/6000 miles and a few tyres was the head gasket at 268K but as the guy working on my car was an independent who'd been fully trained by Saab and who'd cut his teeth on 99s and 900s for 8 years before the local dealership had changed to Mazda I used to get all that know how for just £15/h cash :D (God do I wish he lived up here!) When I finally let it go it had clocked up over 347K and still started first time. Despite the miles it had under it's belt it once got me from Brecon to Chapeltown, Sheffield in 2 1/2 hours!
Unfortunately the newer Saabs just don't really get me going like the old 900 classic as they now call them or my father's old 99s and atm I doubt we'll replace this one with another Saab. One of the few things left in our 9-3 of the "proper" Saabs is the 204 engine which has now been replaced by a GM unit. It handles ok and if I take the rose tinted glasses of I'd have to say you certainly feel much fresher stepping out of it after a long drive. I've toyed with the idea of going back to a 900 T16S but doubt I'll actually do it.
Sorry for the waffle:)

That wasn't a racist comment.
It's a known fact that every single system on a car can be over complicated and under engineered by the french manufacturers. Anyone who's worked on them will know where i'm coming from :D

Ven......I can't agree with the Darwin theory on cars all being the same....i mean.......just wtf were the french doing while everyone else was copying Ford?:D
Nah ... you're not right DF think about it ... Citroen Diane ...
No sorry ... that's an upturned bath-tub with wheels ... hardly evolutionist ... ... but on second thoughts we do then go full circle back to Ford ... :naughty: ... don't we ... :D
;)

Absolutely! I still remember my Renault 5 Gordini with it's rice paper head gaskets and the crazy pedal layout that meant you had to sit pointing ~30+ degrees to the right of the steering wheel if you wanted to line your feet up with the pedals...not the best seating arrangement when trying to take righthand bends at speed as the steering invariably ended up doubling up as a grab handle to stop you falling onto your passenger

The 2.2 TDCi Mondeo (which is what I'll be after) isn't being launched straight off, so I'll be having to wait awhile longer. There is rumours of a V6 being added to the range possibly the 3.5V6 from America which is supposed to be enviromentally friendly so if there are any incentives for that I may be tempted.
Can't be sure about the other French car manufacturers, but Renault were raiding waste bins in primary school art classes. In fact I'm fairly sure they still do.

I can't get a confirmed answer on the V6, I was chatting to a couple of guys on the development teams and they were still saying no v6.
if one does arrive it'll probably be the diesel from the s type :D

We've heard rumours of the 3.2 Volvo straight six being fitted. One of my managers reckons the 2.5T isn't going to be the top perforemance engine anyway. It was he, who suggested the 3.5 Duratec V6 might be fitted.
I'd like to see the V6 diesel fitted.
Here are a couple of mine
