woods are the best place.you just have to walk them(not on the tracks) and try and find where the are moving or their setts. you can get a sett mixed up with a big rabbit warren so just look for hair and such like near the big holes..

its all about time and effort im afraid as its the only real way of doing it..

Badger setts are D shaped about twice the size of rabbit holes. Look for disgarded bedding around and near the entrance
BUT a word of caution they are still highly protected. You can get a heavy fine if you are seen withing 10 (I beleive it is) meters of a sett.
And lot of setts are "watched".

Yep, be careful with badgers, as well as being protected (rightly so) they are also weasels, very strong and very powerful, they will attack if they cannot find an escape route. If they bite, they don`t let go.

Sorry, but that info is not absolutely correct, badgers will shares setts with foxes, rabbits and allsorts, believe me,odd as it sounds ,it is true. The thrown out bedding is the giveaway with badgers. If there are badgers only then you are correct, but many a time they share with others........

You can tell if foxes are also in there due to the amount of killed and eaten corpses scattered about.

I had badgers coming to eat the peanuts I had put out for the birds in my front garden. I could leave the garden light on and watch them with the window open.... close enough to reach out and touch them if I had wanted to but didnt!

They used to walk up the hill, and in thru the open front gate (we lived in the wilds though)

I have shown this before... so longer standing members have seen this ... but for the newer members you can see a video I took from the open window one night. If its a bit long... skip to the middle when another one enters the stage!

If you listen carefully above the video sound.....you can hear them chewing on the peanuts!! :D

I got a few pictures of one that we rescued by contacting a local badger group a while back
it had fallen off a cliff into a quarry and we thought it was 'doomed' however after feeding it etc we coaxed it back into the woods and watched it go on its merry way (after 3 days)
a couple of snaps
