Hello all

Took some birdy shots this afternoon at a (very) local reserve (see here (http://www.wildlifebcnp.org/reserves/reserve.php?reserveid=114))

I saw quite a few relatively interesting birds but didnt get pictures of them all. At one point I disturbed a magnificent grey heron.

1. Nothing special, but I was pleased with this one. No crop.

2.Tee hee!

3. Swan. Again, no crop but 320mm!

4. There was at least half a dozen Great Crested Grebes – lovely birds. This was the best I got, and its a bit OOF I'm afraid. :(

5. OOF, but I was hoping someone could tell me what it is? Thanks

Thanks all. :)

Duck and the Swan are lovely! The water in the duck shot has a great colour and texture and the duck is good and sharp!

As for the mystery bird - someone will ID it soon I'm sure :)

Just checked out the reed bunting page on the RSPB website and it seems they are on the 'Red List' and as such a bit rarer than a lot of birds. Good spot then I guess! :)

Got quite a few round here Joe, but I suppose it depends what part of the country your in. Some birds are more 'local' than others.
Good spot nonetheless

Another (better maybe a little) reed bunting shot:

Still not great though. Its a very heavy crop, and I wasnt using my monopod. Bad Joe! :p

Though its "only" a plain female Mallard I think #1 works very well indeed
