 Great image
Hehe, glad it's not just me that's easily amused.
Just updated the original post with a slightly different edit where the background's been blurred, I felt some of the bokeh was a little harsh.
Great expression and a canny photo to boot.

Stonking shot!! very very nice!
I love it - I tried getting a Grashopper type creature the other evening with my 100-400, I won't post the results, LOL - I love yours though, fantastic !
It's always nice to see a happy grasshopper. Well caught
How do people get shots like this? I don't think I've ever even seen a grasshopper. I've heard them... I've seen a sort of blur as something jumps in the grass... but that's about it.
Getting one to sit still and pose is just NEVER going to happen.

Hehe, you just have to slow down a bit. Go sit in an overgrown field or hedge for a while and you'll soon find stuff crawling everywhere. Once this guy got used to me he didn't mind being picked up and handled.
Oh, and for the record I should probably state that I screwed up - it's a cricket not a grasshopper!

absolutely superb - lots of the insect photos on here are much, much better than the ones on wikipedia (and most of those are 'top rated' by users...)
