The female just about to land at the nesthole in the side of a stone barn.

I wanted the male really but as he hardly came I only got a couple of shot's of him and not as good as the female.

Also did'nt get the time as they fledged after an hour or so.

I think they are sitting again which is pretty rare with Redstarts I believe.

I'd be more than happy with the shot of the female - excellent composition and capture.

Though I have to say the second looks more like a juvenile robin.. in fact the spitting image of the one I have visiting my feeders! :lol:

Jo, these are the only two I got because he only came 3 times I think.

Yes, the young do look like a Robin.

The second one has his wings almost in, but you have to take a load of shot's to get a good one.

He sure is a lovely colourfull bird though.

Thank's, I was using a 40d, Sigma 105 macro lens and flash.

Hi Mav, I have a 100-400 atm but I just got a 300 f2.8 after having a go with a friends lens.
