Word processing

We are down here in Oxford on holiday at the moment, last few days, and only brought the one laptop with us, mine. Unfortunately for Mrs Galaxy she was going to do an assignment for her college work but mine does not have a word processing programme installed.
Is there a free basic programme out there that we can download that will work for her.
The downside of this is that I will get nowhere near the laptop once she starts:(
I have Vista installed on my laptop.

Thanks ekimeno looks like that will do the trick and keep her happy:D, so that could be me off line for a while:( unless I can create a few coffee breaks so I can get back on.

OpenOffice Portable http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable not basic but will do anything ms office will and intended for laptops and it's free.

She could type it up in notepad and then format it later?

Thanks Steep, she has already started doing her work in Google Docs but she will look at that also to see what suits her best.
