The longest day has gone and the nights are drawing in again. :'(
Will we get a summer before it's too late?

I guessed it was, it's raining.
Oh give over! we've had some fantastic weather this year and it's not half over yet.

how come we say Midsummer's Day when its the first day of summer
I thought today was the longest day? Anyway, official sunrise times only draw in by 4 minutes between now and month end... And then there's the autumn colours to look forward too... followed by... hmm, ok, point taken... lol

I thought today was the longest day?
yes its that too
Is it the first day of summer today? I never knew that?
And when was the longest day?
Seems this year is flying by really quickly.
Wake up today to a typical British summer. As long as theres less rain than last year, this year will be a success :(

It's a leap year, so longest day was yesterday.
We've had a few good days but I like it to be hot and sunny. I want it at least 25 degrees, not the 19 or 20 we keep getting.
I suffer from Psoriasis, I crave the summer sun. Can't afford a trip to the Dead Sea just yet.

Eh, I am getting depressed too by this s****y British weather. I get SAD so rely on the sun to keep my moods up. God, I so want the Summer of 2006 again when it was so hot you could almost melt walking along the street, lol. Besides, I prefer shooting when there is some good light around.

How can you say that, lol? We only had some sun in part of May and now it is rainy and dull here in the SW. In 2006 almost the entire summer was high temps and sun.

Yesterdays weather here was lovely, great sun and sky but a nice cool breeze, yeah today it is rubbish, but this is Britain!!! It isn't exactly known for its great summer weather is it?
People, people..... You're all panicking over nothing.
This weekend sees the British leg of the Motor GP at Donington Park, and Moday is the opening day of Wimbledon.
Did you really expect anything else but rain & poor light ?
It's the same every year isn't it ???
In 2 weeks it'll be all nice & sunny again
Steve
Nice sunny weather is no good when I'm at work. I've split all my holidays up this year. During the school 6 weeks holiday I've got 2 days of each week. Every other weekend I'll have a 6 day weekend from Thursday through to Tuesday, I think I've got Friday to Sunday on the other weekends. I'm just hoping to be fortunate that I catch some sun.

Up here we had 7 weeks without any significant rain this year. We can afford a couple of weeks of poor weather. Today was great, I was Portsoy Traditional Boat Festival (no camera, sorry) and apart from a cool wind it was just fab!
Tomorrow doesn't look so promising though :(
Well, on the BBC News website before it said we're to brace ourselves for storms tomorrow, across the North, so I might head out to blackpool for stormy seafront shots :D
well im going to france in 16 days!!1 so ner ner ner ner ner!!!!!
Not sure what you're bragging about there, you *do* know that France is full of French people?
well, I had 9 days of consecutive pure sunshine in scotland this year and quite frankly I consider that an f'ing miracle so it can rain cats and dogs for the rest of the summer for all I care!
(it's guaranteed to rain at the end of june anyway cos that's when glastonbury is and god like to annoy the druids by not letting the sun peep through at stonehenge!)

Absolutely stotting down here in Witney Oxford, can't hear myself think at the moment with the noise on the conservatory roof:eek:
I knew we should have gone home today instead of staying an extra few days.
Lightning now:eek:

Too late, it has now stopped, and just as well, they are still working on the damage done in the last floods only a few weeks ago.
Lovely fresh breeze here today :D cobwebs well on the way to china!
