"Photoshop this"

Seeing as we've got some dab hands at PS here why not have a "Photoshop this" challenge, mostly for fun I guess.

Anyone that reads Fark.com or b3ta.com will know what I mean. Basically you are given a usually random image and then encouraged to get creative with photoshop.

Could be quite amusing and help people hone their PS skills?

we had this before, but got lukewarm attention, however im happy to give it another go?

stick a random in the Competitions etc forum and see what happens. but please remember copyright rules for images you might find on the net

Yes, we did run this two or three times and it wasn't a big success. The idea generally was to show what could be done with deliberately chosen mediocre images, and to encourage people to get that first toe in the water with photo editing. Unfortunately it developed into a bit of a competition, and I think, with people being a little deterred by the offerings of the more capable members.

I think if we can keep it strictly fun and encourage everyone to have a go then it could work. It's a certainly a good way of firing people's imagination and enthusiasm. :)

Yeah I agree, more than happy for it to run again, but I think it would have more success if it was a fun competition, much like someone just posted over on Arkady's thread.

You sound like I feel Boon, :sulk: sort of makes you want to turn and run sometimes when you see some of the talent thats floating around and the success others have :exit: but onwards and upwards eh
