View Full Version : Sigma 10-20 under-exposing?
im finding that all my shots are under exposed when using the sigma 10-20. is it just me? or has anyone else found this. when i mean under exposing i mean buy about 3 stops.
so ive been shooting in raw ande adjusting on the PC, mainly by just lifting the fill light adjuster up by half
Not mine , have you tried to reset your camera to factory default settings?
Sounds very odd. Can you post an example with full EXIF embedded so we can try and work out why?
ok, heres a shot of my garden straight out of camera with the sun behind me.

mmmmm it looks diferent on my laptop. how does it look to you?
maybe my monitor is in need of calibration...
ive got canonbobs spyder on the way to me as we speak..
Given the shot Double T I'd say that shot is exposed about right. On my monitor the sky is blown and the shadows are a bit dark but assuming evaluative metering I'd say the exposure has nailed it.

How is that pic 3 stops underexposed? Were you exposing forthe darkest shadow at the hedge??? If you were then maybe you are right.

The vignetting is quite bad but then you're shooting at f/4 and 10mm so no surprise. Try it at f/8. Exposure looks correct here.

i think thats where im having the problem, its dark around the edges. ill try a diferent f number

I still don't understand what your problem is with the above picture.
Exposure looks fine to me. Not really a very bad vignette either IMO. Bottom right looks a bit dark, but that could be shadow?

i had a fair few underexposed shots recently, but i think i havent been paying attention to what the camera was doing.
