Mysterious Hut!!!!

Appreciate any comments on this shot, am off travelling soon and would like to get some feedback to try and get my shots better next time, I think the sky is a little blown out but not too sure how to correct this during the shot?

Not sure whether I am doing it right but it seems to work. I expose for the sky, then keeping the AE button held down, I recompose and then shoot. Sometimes the main area is underexposed slightly, but this can be easily modified in PS.

Alternatively take the shot, check the picture in the LCD, and either look at the histogram or the display which shows blinking highlights and then if it's not right, drop the exposure down. Maybe though someone more expert than me will be able to tell you a better way.
